SportingRank.com ("SportingRank", "we", "us", "our") is an independent fan-operated sports information website. We are not a registered company. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to any football governing body, tournament organiser, national football federation, or commercial partner of any sporting event.

Automatically collected:
• Your IP address (anonymised before any analytics processing; never stored raw)
• Browser type and version
• Pages visited and time spent
• Referring website
• Device type and operating system
• General geographic location (country/region only — detected via ip-api.com for consent banner purposes only, not stored beyond your session)
• A daily-rotating hashed identifier (non-reversible SHA-256) used solely to prevent duplicate votes in polls and Man of the Match voting. Cannot identify you. Stored maximum 90 days.
• If you submit a bracket prediction, a hashed session identifier is stored up to 90 days. No personal data is stored alongside this.

Voluntarily provided:
• Email address (only if you subscribe to updates or download our wallchart)
• Predictions and votes submitted via fan tools (stored anonymously)

Under GDPR and UK GDPR, we process personal data under the following lawful bases:

Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — Analytics cookies (GA4), email newsletter subscriptions, fan prediction submissions. You can withdraw consent at any time via Cookie Settings in our footer.

Legitimate Interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — Hashed IP storage for vote deduplication (preventing ballot stuffing), session management, and site security. We have assessed that these interests do not override your rights.

Contract performance (Article 6(1)(b)) — Processing your email address to deliver the wallchart or tournament updates you specifically requested.

Consent logs (containing only a hashed session identifier and consent choice — no personal data) are retained for 24 months for compliance purposes.
Email addresses (if provided) are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
Vote deduplication hashes are retained for maximum 90 days.
Session data is cleared when you close your browser.

SportingRank.com is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact privacy@sportingrank.com and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance. For significant changes we will display a notice on the site.
